Hi, You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the Tatty Bogler Pinot Noir 2013 would interest you. Otago, New Zealand
PorkFish - SalmonTroutBBQ - Red Meats
  • The Scottish guardian delivers up a yummy Pinot
  • ‘Tatty Bogler’ is a Scottish scarecrow protecting the ripen grapes from the ravages of hungry birds – like ourselves thirsty to try the next great vintage.
  • This Otago wine blends the sweet fruit of Bannockburn with the layered earthiness of the Waitaki Valley to give a rustic fruit driven Pinot, Scottish in personality, but New Zealand by birth. Tatty Bolger’s personality starts with black cherry, bramble, and wild thyme scents. To follow this wine presents flavours of fresh plums and red cherries, with moderate oak and tannin characteristics to break up the sweet fruit. Brambles, spice and savoury flavours follow and will grow with time.
It is the Scottish Scarecrow ‘Tatty Bogler’ that overlooks the vines of this Otago label protecting the precious crops from predators and spirits such as ‘hobgoblins’ allowing the harvest to prosper. Situated in the dramatic alpine scenery of Otago, Tatty Bolger pays homage to the Scottish ancestry of the three founding families and to all those pioneering Scottish settlers who braved the harsh environment to carve a living from the land. Tatty Bogler wines is partly owned and crafted by wine industry legend Dr John Forrest. Always an innovator John blends grapes from Waitaki, North Otago and Bannockburn, Central Otago with a Tatty Bolger at each vineyard protecting the ripen grapes from the ravages of hungry birds – like ourselves thirsty to try the next great vintage. The 2013 Pinot Noir uses a unique innovative ‘Otago’ blend of grapes grown from the dramatic scenery of Waitaki, North Otago and Bannockburn, Central Otago. The grapes are hand harvested at separate dates in April, cold soaked and fermented in small open top fermenters before maturing in barrel for 11-15 months.
