Cloudy Bay Vineyards was established in 1985 by its sister company Cape Mentelle Vineyards of Margaret River. Cloudy Bay in turn rocked the wine world, by bringing the unique taste of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to the international community. Now owned by the wine division of the luxury goods giant LVMH, Cloudy Bay wines are guided by winemakers Nick Blampied-Lane and Tim Heath. The Cloudy Bay team produce world famous ‘wines of region’ through pure flavours and the stunning vibrancy of Marlborough. This is A far cry from the sight Captain Cook saw, when he named Cloudy Bay as at the time the Wairau River was in full flood washing silt into the bay creating cloudy waters.Cloudy Bay has an impressive cellar of stunning Sparklers on offer with the Brut NV and Vintage. Now Pelorus has added a tint of colour with its gorgeous Pelorus Rose NV. Completing the Pelorus threesome, the Rose has no problem reaching the benchmark set by its fellow Cloudy Bay Methode Traditionelle’s. Crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir (differing from the Brut) the kiss of pink comes from a delicate soak with the Pinot Noir grape skins before the first round of ferments.
