Check out this weekly wine wonder.....
With names like Man O War and Gravestone you might think twice about purchasing this Waihekean white, but don’t! Gravestone takes the old French recipe of adding a touch of Semillon (35%) to Sauvignon Blanc which produces a brilliant blend. It’s a bit of technical drop to utilizing all of winemaker Duncan’s talents….Hand harvesting off 4 vineyards, Wild ferments, Puncheon ferments, barrel ageing, skin contact, and wee bit of time for two varieties to get married. Just to put your mind at ease Gravestone takes its name from the huge fluted boulders that litter the Man O War volcanic hilltop vineyards. Gravestone in the glass is a great way to live life especially when matched to sautéed scallops , BBQ prawns or lemon and herb chicken.
