Although no stranger to gold medals or trophies, you wouldn't really associate the Rapaura Springs winery with big Bordeaux reds. Champion Sauvy's and Gris's yes, but it seems the team have been quietly sitting on this gorgeous puppy for 3 years now, and have just released it to the world....and WOW what a stunner. So good, it took out the Merlot Trophy at the 2019 Royal Easter Show Wine Awards. Merlot's with this much punch normally sit around the $30 mark so at 13 smackeroos it 's got amazing value written all over it....it's got to be a case buy. Plush, delicious and with a few more years left in the bottle - Rapaura Springs Merlot is one of those rare cellarable quaffers. Great with a lamb rack or a beef burger off the barbie.
