Hi, You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels 'The Gimblett' 2015 would interest you.
Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
  • The Gimblett –  Delicious and concentrated red blend pays homage to the famous region
  • Trinity Hill have crafted a wine with a great expression of the famed Hawkes Bay region, by extracting the best out of Gimblett Gravel vines
  • Blending artist Warren Gibson will take you on mouth filling experience of the region complete with memories of blackberries, dried herbs, cedar oak, fruit spices all rolled into a dense well-structured package.
‘The Gimblett’ borrows its named from the famed subregion of Hawke’s Bay – the Gimblett Gravels which is ancient river shingle left over from the previous path of the Ngaruroro River. These low fertility soils provide an excellent platform for intensely flavoured grapes to be produced. The Gimblett is a familiar blend of five varieties grown in the GG’s and for the 2015 edition, the makeup is  Merlot 30%, Cabernet Sauv 40% & Franc 29%, and 1% Petit Verdot. For this classic blend Trinity Hill handcraft the wine from vineyard to winery with fermentation, extraction, and 16 months of barrel time each occuring in individual parcels.
‘The Gimbletts’ great structure is testimony to the blending artists of Trinity Hill’s winemakers John Hancock, and Warren Gibson. Traditional fruit flavours of blackberries and dried herbs greet you. But as you experience more and more of ‘The Gimblett’, the sense of power soon takes over pushing past the initial flavours enveloping your mouth with complex characteristics of cedar, oak spices and dense tannins. At this point Gimblett is still in development stages and will come age in a 5-6 years, but will open up to a date with beef fillet.
