Kumeu River Mate's Chardonnay 2015

Kumeu, New Zealand
ShellfishChickenPork
  • A NZ Chardonnay classic – 2015 won’t disappoint
  • 50 years of Kumeu viticultural knowledge, crafted by NZ’s first Master of Wine – It shows!
  • Pears glorious pears initiate you into this wine followed by a wine experience in stonefruit concentration and chardonnay elegance. Ever evolving flavour chapters include pears, white spice, and butterscotch. Savoury characters of baked nuts and croissant keep the experience going, finishing with a classy mineral edge.
Kumeu River proudly represents the Brajkovich Family Winemakers and half a century of winegrowing in Auckland’s northwest village of Kumeu. Guided by the family matriarch Melba with help of her children Michael, Marijana, Milan, and Paul, Kumeu River specialises in sensational Chardonnay’s. Planted by the late Mate Brajkovich on land purchased by his dad Mick, Mate’s Vineyard Chardonnay has earnt its place in NZ Chardonnay’s Hall of Fame having won consistent international acclaim each vintage.
Crafted by Michael Brajkovich MW, Mate’s Chardonnay hallmark is picked up as soon as you get whiff of the glass, through opulent flavours of ripe pears with a slight minerality. If you can tear your nose away from the glass to give your mouth a chance, you’ll discover a wine experience in stonefruit concentration and chardonnay elegance. The palate party continues through an ever evolving complexity of pears, peaches, white spice, and butterscotch. The savoury characteristics then take charge with baked nuts and croissant flavours, finished by that ever apparent mineral edge.
