Red Knot Shiraz 2015

McLaren Vale, Australia
  • Cracking good value mate!
  • Red Knot by Shingleback as yet again given us meaning to this great Aussie declaration with an easy going Shiraz of outstandingly value.
  • The 2015 vintage doesn’t fail to excite the senses on such a low budget. It powers up with a vibrant shot of plum & blackberry liquorice, then continues with unctuous offerings of dark chocolate, coffee beans, and aniseed spice. Great to depth yet so easy to drink – what a cracker!
Kym and John Davey have been crafting the value conscious Red Knot Shiraz since 2004 and every year the similar remark is made – ‘outstanding value’. James Halliday (wine critic) has chimed in saying those exact words and given 90pts to the juicy Aussie red. A host of awards have come from around the world including a Silver medal from or own Spiegelau International Wine Competition. With a small amount of oak this Shiraz focuses in on characters of McLaren Vale fruit and its rich skin tannins. Red Knot Shiraz is a cheap wine that’s anything but cheap on the tastebuds. It powers up with a vibrant shot of black plum, blackberry and black liquorice. The flavoursome characters continue with offerings of dark chocolate, coffee bean, and aniseed spice. For this price RK Shiraz has a brilliant depth of flavours for the midweek quaff, or the weekend barbie’s of sausages and steak.
RRP $17.99
