Clearview Estate under the ownership of Tim Turvey and Helma van den Berg, has notched up a fair bit of history from its humble beginnings in 1985 but special mention needs to go the name of the Old Olive Block red. During the early years where Tim and Helma were establishing the property – planting, fencing, mowing …. Tim found a sign in the front paddock reading ‘Vidals No 2 vineyard’. Intrigued Tim did a bit of research and found that this land had once been a vineyard 70 years prior in 1915, by the now famous Spaniard vintner Anthony Joseph Vidal. After a bit more research it was released that this was who planted the ancient Olive tree by the estates ‘Red Shed’ restaurant. This tree inspired the Clearview’s Old Olive Block name. Quite fitting given the location of the current vines and the olive characters you can taste. Joining the olive flavours are characters of blackcurrant, black plums, cassis and spicy cedar oak to deliver an award winning Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Create your own bit of history with Old Olive Block by pairing it with herb marinated lamb or beef
