The Winemakers Reserve Syrah represents Esk Valley's finest Syrah experience. To produce this rich and complexed drop Gordon Russell looks to just one vineyard - the Gimblett Gravel site named the Cornerstone These 20 year old vines supply the Esk team with intensely flavoured berries which get hand harvested at extremely low levels. The grapes then take a short trip over to wineries 80 year old concrete vats at the historic Esk Valley winery. It is here the wine gathers all its the stories, and man is there a few to tell. This mesmerising red will give your mouth a story and a half with every drop. With only a small amount produced make sure you don't miss out. You have about a decade to choose the moment of storytime, but if you are after a tip, the WR Syrah goes extremely well in the winter with a hearty roast or beef stew.
