The Terraces are firmly set in the NZ Wine Hall of Fame with vine heritage going back to 1940. These vines were rejuvenated in 1989 with new plantings in the picturesque terraced vineyard situated just above and next to the winery. Only produced in the very best of vintages The Terraces showcase the pinnacle of both Esk Valley and New Zealand, being one of only a handful of clarets from NZ capable of being compared to the Bordeaux's First Growths. The hand crafted 2014 Terraces is composed from 46% Malbec, 31% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc and will easily stand the test of time. Given that the very first 1991 vintage is still an outstanding experience 25 years on, look for 20-30 cellaring potential on this black beauty. Dress to impress The Terraces is an experience in its own right but to top the night off accompany it with aged beef or game dishes.
