Saint Clair Block 3 43 Degrees Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Marlborough, New Zealand
  • 43o is one of the most awarded single vineyard wines in the country!
  • Pretty clever planting from the St Clair team delivers a sensational Sauvignon of two halves - tropical fruit on one side coupled with grassy crushed herbs on the other.
  • Match its award winning twin characters with shellfish or fresh vegetable dishes.
Block 3's consistency as an award winning Sauvy is phenomenal making it one of the most awarded single vineyard wines in the country. Since it conception in 2005 Block 3 has hauled in no less than 5 trophies and 9 gold medals. Block 3's bulging award cabinet has a lot to do with the vines been planted at a slightly unusual angle of 43 degrees (hence the name) rather than the traditional north to south. It is this varied angle leads to the development of two distinguished characters found in the wine. Tropical flavours from the north facing grapes vs Crushed Herb flavours from the south facing grapes. Pretty clever planting and has made this Sauvignon a firm favourite amoungst all those that try it especially with the prefect pairing of Marlborough Mussels.

Main Divide Chardonnay 2016

Main Divide Chardonnay 2016

Waipara, New Zealand
  • A second label with first flavours providing outstanding value
  • From the Waipara stable of Pegasus Bay, the Main Divide label that has enough attention grabbing characteristics as the mountain range it’s named after.
  • Citrus and mineral acid flavours are dominant, as soon as you experience this wine, subsiding to the softer fruits of melon and peach after the wine mellows in your mouth. Evidence of the 18 months spent in old oak appears as buttered toast characteristics. But it is the backbone of mineral acid that defines this wine showing some serious hang time in the mouth. Ultimately this is a great value Chardonnay with great flavour complexity perfect to accompany dishes, like an apricot chicken or prawn salad.
