Croix de Marsan is produced from the vineyards of Chataeu de Marson in Bordeaux. Of course like with most french wine stories Marsan goes back generations to the 17th century.....but it's the last 50 yrs is what is really important. Thats when a young Algerian Paul Gonfrier packed up his family and moved Bordeaux for a better life. Over the last 50 years Paul and sons went through major restoration of the Marsan vineyard. Now the sons are running the show and have crafted a fantastic little Bordeaux blend of mostly Merlot at 70%, with rest being Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc. Red berries, black fruit and supple easy going tannins. The perfect drop for a glazed lamb ribs on the barbie followed by raspberry and chocolate tart. Croix de Marsan will see you right all through the night!
