The Leopardi familigia traces its winemaking heritage back 500 years, growing wine on Italy’s eastern coast. The latest terrior of Casa Leopardi continues tradition being located on the eastern coast of New Zealand’s South Island. The estate is nestled under the hills of the Three Sisters in Waipara, taking advantage of a sun trapped valley and unique river terraces, to produce award winning wine. The 2016 edition is a delicious Pinot experience, initiated by aromas of red roses and dark cherries. A classic Burgundian palate follows with smokey dark fruit and fresh blackberries. Savoury truffles wave out , while sliding their way down the silky tannin finish. All of these unctous characters are supported by a natural acidic backbone of which creates a great cuisine team alongside Roast Pork or Peking Duck.
