Speaking from the vineyard, Carrick’s wines express the uniqueness of that block, vineyard, sub region and region.To achieve healthy vines for the ultimate site expression, Carrick has proudly follows the organic practices of winemaking. Although Carrick Pinot Gris has the smallest amount of vines planted on the original Cairnmuir vineyard, it shows its big where it counts, in flavour and complexity. The 2017 Pinot Gris interwoven flavours give the winery’s symbol of a Carrick Bend knot proud. The 2017 edition of Carrick’s Pinot Gris continues to represent the terroir of Bannockburn interlocking the flavours of the fruit with the landscape of the vineyard in a true Carrick Bend Knot fashion. The Gris grapes were hand harvested then whole bunched pressed, before a wild fermented mostly in tanks but with 40% finding a few old barrels. As a result the flavours are lead with pears and white peach characters and followed by an unctuous texture of vanilla, soft oak & citrus. This mouth filling Pinot Gris pairs perfectly with chicken or Asian dishes.
