The 2020 Estate Vineyards Gamay Noir is a vibrant cheeky character livening up your day with wild cranberries and bananas, before toffee apple complexities start to take over with hints of fine oak, rounded out with light supple tannins.

This brave venture into the Beaujolais territory by Te Mata rewards consumers looking for serious Beaujolais or Rose alternative. The unique winemaking technique of ‘maceration carbonique’ used by Beaujolais wineries is well managed by Te Mata for 66% of the wine production. Adding to this, is a quick 3 month stay in some seasoned French Oak and Te Mata’s Woodthorpe Gamay Noir represents NZ well as it is it’s only bottled full Gamay Noir varietal. This vibrant cheeky character is capable of livening up your day with delightful wild strawberries, cranberries and bananas. It gets a little serious with toffee apple complexities, and hints of fine oak, rounded out with light supple tannins. This is one red wine that likes to be chilly when experienced.
