The aptly named Oak Cask eludes us to the 9 months spent in French and American Oak, while the Malbec variety should give us the richness of a Cabernet Sauvignon but the fruit of a Merlot, which this does in spades!
It’s the eyes that first get to experience of the 2018 harvest and it’s vibrant Malbec colours now sealed with a screwcap. After sweet blackberries, cassis and plum flavours greet you, the dense rich tannins come and say hello in a sultry Argentinan manner with opposing flavours of chocolate and vanilla . Within these tasty tannins lie hints of savoury chocolate characters and smoky oak. Drop this wine in a glass next to some red meat straight from the BBQ, grill or pizza oven to complete the experience!
