Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
Soft CheesePorkShellfish
  • Sun and stones, create a sublime Pinot Gris.
  • Esk Valley every year bottles a classy Gris grown from the banks of two river systems in Hawke’s Bay, satisfying Pinot Gris lovers of all styles.
  • The Hawke’s Bay fruit from 2016 has provided this Gris with a great body and classic flavours of apricots, white clover honey, and pears. A touch of white spice and honeysuckle texture add layers in amongst the fruit that will enjoy being paired up with a bit of food
  • Case of 6 ($18.00/bottle)
Esk Valley has been enjoying the stunning view of the Hawke’s Bay coastline at Bay View since 1933. Founded by Robert Bird as Glenvale, this historic winery was reborn in the late 1980’s when it was purchased by George Fistonich, and renamed to Esk Valley. The caretaker of Esk Valley is Winemaker Gordon (Mr Esk) Russell who creates a range of sensational ‘hands on’ wines from authentic tradtitions and modern-day science . From the supreme value of the Esk Valley range, to the multi awarding winning Winemakers Reserve and the iconic pièce de résistance - ‘The Terraces’.Esk Valley’s Pinot Gris is a stunning product of two river banks in Hawke’s Bay. This full bodied Pinot Gris is sourced from 2 vineyards on the Ngaruroro River and 1 vineyard next the Esk River. Picked at different times to maximise the individual characteristics of the sites, all the grapes are hand harvested, gently whole bunched pressed and fermented both in tanks and in barrels. Complexity and variability ensures this Gris is crowd pleaser for all palates - thanks Mr Esk - yum!

Main Divide Pinot Gris 2023

Main Divide Pinot Gris 2023

Waipara, New Zealand
  • Mouth-watering Gris with a thoroughbred pedigree
  • Only a recent addition to the Main Divide cellar but what a wine to blast onto the Pinot Gris scene.
  • The ‘Main Divide’ of NZ’s South Island sets the backbone for the terroir of this wine. This backbone is emulated in the wine with its natural acidity providing a lengthy mineral backbone. Hanging off it are fruit flavours of peaches, guavas and spicy pear along with secondary characteristics of barrel fermentation, ageing all encompassed by a gorgeous swirl of mouth filling creamy texture.
