Man O' War's Pinot Gris is 100% crafted from the St Helena clone grown on Ponui Island. St Helena the island, famous for Napoleon's exile, is the connection that provides this Gris with it's name.
This island Pinot Gris delivers a pure experience of fleshy pears, and manderin honey with touches of ginger spice and although well balanced this off-dry Gris has a good dollop of decadent sweetness.
Case of 6 ($30.90/bottle)
Exiled PG has quickly become a cult classic and with last years production being down by 50% it sold out nationwide within a few months, so its better to order up in advance. The 2018 edition is another delicious drop from this exclusive Ponui Island experience delivering a bountiful of flavours to your senses. Of course there is plenty of Gris fruit, add to this spicy tannin from the old school foot crushed skin contact, elements of oak characters from the wild ferment in the barrel and the sweet balance of natural grape sugar. Named from the grape clone of St Helena and its namesake island which is most famous for Napoleon final days in exile, but unlike Napolean this is one wine you will not want to leave alone!
