This classic Rhone Valley red is named after the polished river stones scattered throughout the river vineyards.
Produced by the 300yr old wine legends of Barton & Guestier
Case of 6 ($23.90/bottle)
From the legendary Barton & Guestier's cellar comes their Cotes du Rhone wine - Les Galets which integrates three iconic Rhone Valley grapes. This red combo consists of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carignan all picked from from the Southern Rhône, between the towns of Montélimar and Avignon. It is around these river towns you will find 'Les Galets' which the locals name the small stones polished by the Rhône river and found in mass throughout the vineyards soil. It is these stone 'Galets' that are responsible for much of the flavour of the Les Galets wine, like the Gimblett gravels of Hawke's Bay or the Greywacke stones of Marlborough. Speaking of flavour, stick you nose in a glass full of Barton and Guestier's Les Galets and you might pick up characters violet and black fruits (black cherry, blackcurrant) combined with peppery hints. These characters continue to the palate with a spicy aftertaste perfect with a saucy red meat ensemble. When you buy any 6 bottles of Barton & Guestier wines receive a free B&G Beach Bag.
