Elephant Hill Syrah is fast becoming the latest classic often described as luscious and elegant with just the right amount of black fruit spice. As their flagship variety Elephant Hill take huge pride in the creation of their Syrah sourcing the fruit from their vineyards around the region - Gimblett Gravels, Te Awanga & the Triangle. Winemaker Steve Skinner and his team go to extra lengths to craft this sumptuous Syrah by handpicking each grape and ageing the wine for over 2 years. The 2018 vintage comes in a trifecta of whopping great vintages for this wine starting with 2013 - each year picking up multiple golds and glowing reviews. This Syrah was once described as the Dark Horse and one to watch - well I think enough watching as gone on, time trumpet its praises like elephant! The 2016 Elephant Hill is extremely appealing right now but will easily cellar for another 8 years and is great partner with Wagyu beef.
