The characters of this 2019 Sauvignon Blanc are bulging out of the bottle, with intense concentration and vibrancy. It’s all there, and it’s all good, characters of ripe tropical fruits, crisp intense citrus flavours, elegant chalky mineral notes together with a splash of racy acidity make for a flavour-full glass of NZ vibrancy.

Lawson’s Dry Hills calls the Marlborough grapegrowing region home, it is where it was born (thanks to the pioneering innovator and founder Ross Lawson) and it is where all its grapes come from. As you would expect from a Marlboroughan wine producer Sauvignon Blanc is on the winelist. But it is not just any sauvy, it is a pretty darn good one, which goes to show you after 3 decades of vintages the LDH team have perfected the art of Sauvignon Blanc.
The 2019 version crafted from Marcus Wright and Rebecca Wiffen delivers a crisp dry wine, yet one with a full spectrum of varietal flavours. The ripe tropical characters are there, so too are the chalky mineral notes and the crisp dry acidity courtesy of the never to be outdone ‘Marlborough flavours’ of limes and gooseberry. An elegant texture balances the refreshing blend perfect for summer aperitif, but even better with the company of fresh NZ shellfish or strong cheeses.
