The Mt Difficulty team have created a second label, to deliver an experience of ‘Pinot Entertainment’, named after an entertaining young lass of the local legend.
The 2019 Roaring Meg Pinot Noir continues NZ’s love of great value Central Otago Pinots with its juicy forest berry & dried herb flavours which are teamed up with supple tannins and plenty of character for your mouth to get into.
Case of 6 ($26.90/bottle)
With plenty of character itself the Roaring Meg Pinot Noir from Mt Difficulty pays tribute to the colourful characters of Central Otago’s history. In the Kawarau Gorge just up the road from the Mt D Winery is one of NZ’s first hydro power stations named after, and over the streams of Roaring Meg and Gentle Annie. Legend has it that Meg and Annie were two enterprising young ladies from the pioneering days who kept the miners ‘entertained’. Not ones to miss an opportunity the ladies went with an early party of diggers and it was from the river crossings there nicknames were established. While carrying the dancers across it was Meg that kicked up a fuss while Annie was calm. This character continues in Mt D’s Roaring Meg Pinot Noir. The 2019 edition of this much loved Central Pinot follows on from recent editions as the perfect 'go to' Central Pinot. Meg delivers a mouthful of sweet red forest berries complimented by dried herbs and natural acidity and loves to be experienced with lamb, pork and duck.
