Block 3's consistency as an award winning Sauvy is phenomenal making it one of the most awarded single vineyard wines in the country. Since it conception in 2005 Block 3 has hauled in no less than 5 trophies and 9 gold medals. Block 3's bulging award cabinet has a lot to do with the vines been planted at a slightly unusual angle of 43 degrees (hence the name) rather than the traditional north to south. It is this varied angle leads to the development of two distinguished characters found in the wine. Tropical flavours from the north facing grapes vs Crushed Herb flavours from the south facing grapes. Pretty clever planting and has made this Sauvignon a firm favourite amoungst all those that try it especially with the prefect pairing of Marlborough Mussels.
