Te Mata Estate Vineyards Chardonnay was first released under the Woodthorpe label using Te Mata’s wealth of expertise and Hawke’s Bay brilliant growing environment for the Chardonnay variety. This 2018 'Estate Vineyards' Chardonnay continues with the Te Mata's reputation of quality wines with a great varietal expression.Te Mata's Estate Vineyards range rocks out the best of new and old winemaking techniques. For this golden drop both traditional whole bunch pressing and barrel ferments, blend well with the modern destemming and tank ferments. All parcels are given time to relax before blending, and bottling. The finish product is a fresh glass of classic Chardonnay ready for you to dip your nose in. You might find characters of lemon oil, pineapple, and grapefruit. With further investigation the winemaking influence reveals buttered popcorn, and oatmeal cookies.
