In 1911, Georges Bollinger’s British agent gave him the idea for the name Special Cuvee – "special" written the English way, without an accent to match the exquisite tastes of this wine – to right old chap and the Queen agrees.
Made with a percentage of Pinot Noir the Bollinger blend is formulated every year on the 22 December – the ultimate Xmas present, which is lucky because it’s a great match with a turkey, or perfect paired with shrimps, prawns, crayfish, or something a bit different ..Sushi!

Back then Bolly’s English sales rep thought for a Champagne so unique and tantalising the label deserves a special name hence the English spelling of ‘Special Cuvee’. Ever since then the Brits having been popping Bollinger corks in their thousands, whether it’s the Queen with Bollinger’s Royal Warrant, the girls from AbFab, or 007 on his latest assignment.
The Special Cuvee NV is artistically blended from current harvest grapes and reserve wines some aged for more than 15 years. With a vivacious body to die for, the Special Cuvee will seduce your tastebuds with super fine velvety bubbles before delivering tastes of pear, brioche, and Anzac biscuits with a sprinkling of fresh walnuts in amongst the sparkling citrus and melon flavours. This super special cuvee can provide a night full of entertainment just by itself but is perfectly paired to sushi, shrimps, crayfish, and poultry.
